What is courage?

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful…

This is amongst the most inspirational stories of the sahaba I have ever heard. We should all learn a lesson from it!

Today, we give us our religion for the sake of being accepted by the society. Sisters don’t wear hijab because of what others might say. Brothers shave their beard so they will fit in with the non-believers. The original generations put Allah before anyone and anything else.

“The sahaba (RA), men or women, when they committed to religion of Allah, nothing, NOTHING WHATSOEVER, could change them off track”

Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah As-Sahmi (RA) was offered the King’s daughter and all he was asked to do was give up Islam, and he declined! Today, we give up Islam because of a few evil looks we get.

We should all strive to be like the early generations!

Allah speaks of the companions in the Qur’an:

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers – so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.May Allah guide us and our loved ones to the straight path!

[Qur’an 48:29]

The above is one ofmany stories of the companions. Listening to these stories will boost our iman, so we should all strive to read or listen to at least one a day!

May Allah guide us and our loved ones!
